About Me
Hi, I'm Jenna! I was born with anaphylactic food allergies to milk, eggs, beef, and pork and have managed them for my entire life. I started a food allergy blog in 2018 when I was recovering from an anaphylactic reaction and searching for a source of community in amidst my recovery. I realized that I enjoyed creating allergy-friendly recipes and sharing tips I had learned over the years to help me live my life with severe food allergies, so the blog quickly became a huge source of motivation and joy for me.
Through my own struggles with mental health and food allergies, I found that there was a lack of allergy-informed therapists and a huge knowledge gap in the mental health field when it came to the impact of food allergies. I graduated from the University of Toronto in 2020 with an Honors Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminology and received my Master of Social Work from California State University, Long Beach in 2023. Throughout my academic career, I conducted research on the impact of food allergies on mental health and felt more motivated than ever to specialize in this niche.
Now, I am excited to say that I am offering therapy online and in person in California, specializing in working with people with food allergies and parents of children with food allergies.
Thank you for being here. I look forward to connecting with you on your journey!
